This second set of ten pictures, is from the install of both the bird sculptures, which were conceived, designed, and fabricated by TORK. The first sculpture consists of five separate balanced arms with two adult birds per set and a Swarovski crystal, which represents an egg (remember this is a sculpture for the maternity ward). The second sculpture is similar to the first with the exception that it has baby birds instead of the eggs. These sculptures are in two separate atriums , the east and west towers, respectively. Each sculpture is approximately 50 feet high with each arm set being 10 feet wide. The arm set rotates, as well as each individual bird and the crystal, so the piece is quite kinetic even in a light breeze. We will hopefully have some video of the sculpture to post here in the near future.
Though the pictures we took turned out well, the best way to experience these is in person, so if you have the opportunity to go view these, please do.
One more installment which will feature the Bonsai tree in the Meditation Garden will be posted by tomorrow.
