This is the B-52 Venus Flytrap, the biggest of the species....it could almost tackle a cockroach...almost but not quite.

Nope, we didn't do this. This is a super cool pod sculpture we dig at the Franklin Park Conservatory, it was done by artists Sharon McJannet & David C. Murphy

The Savage Gardens (Official)

Sorry, we’re  several days late in getting this posted, but Savage Gardens at The Franklin Park Conservatory officially opened on July 10th. We spent the better part of our time since then tying up a few loose ends…done!  Sweetness! Much has happened, there was the gala opening for members and donors on Wed the 7th of July, with food and drink.  The grand opening on Sat the 10th. That was a fun day, and we were lucky to have some of our family in attendance, to share our moment with us. There was also free Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams there for the opening….yum, yum, and yum!

Some of our best memories are seeing the kids (and adults) faces light up as they activated the Venus Flytrap, or seeing kids a little weary about stepping into the Fanged Pitcher Plant unless their sibling or parent went in with them. Too cool. We are super stoked to see everyone’s positive reactions to the sculptures. Thanks! We smile!

We  would also like to thank all of the staff at The Franklin Park Conservatory. They are some of the nicest people. All of those who we met and came in contact with during our install, were warm and friendly. Thanks!

We are all tired from this project, it took just about everything out of us. We’ll be taking the smallest of breaks then we’ll be right back at what we do here at TORK, create, fabricate, and build. We already have several projects in the works.

So, enjoy some of the photos from the exhibit (more to be posted soon), and head out to see them in person, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

The Savage Gardens Pt. 3

Opening day is arriving fast, and we’ve been working like mad to get to the finish line. More hours than you can shake a stick at have been put in to bring this project to fruition.
